Trauma Work
Often times our bodies are highjacked by stress and trauma. Somatic therapies work to help regulate client's physiology so that they are 'available' for therapy. My somatic practice currently focuses on EFT/Tapping. I am also trained in Hypnosis and EMDR, which both inform my work, however currently my somatic work via telehealth focuses primarily on EFT/Tapping. Tapping is a simple, rapid and effective brain-based approach to relieving stress and trauma in the body. It is based on a synthesis of Chinese acupressure and psychology which help to re-regulate the Amygdala taking the 'charge' out of memories, emotions and physical symptoms associated with various traumas. Tapping is gentle and easy to learn. It is remarkably fast and assists in updating the brain's learning pathways. Tapping has also been shown to lower Cortisol levels by up to 37%, which contributes to ending the fight/flight/freeze response in the brain associated with fear and trauma.
• EFT has been researched in more than 10 countries, by more than 60 investigators, whose results have been published in more than 20 different peer-reviewed journals (over 100 publications in total).
